OK – real quick – I went to the new Trader Joe’s in Hoboken.
I should start by saying that for the past few years I’ve been driving to Edgewater once a month or so to stock up on my favorite Trader Joe’s goodies. So when I heard there was a Trader Joe’s coming to Hoboken, I was thrilled. There was some concern, however, that there would be no parking. Alas – one hour parking is available in a parking garage next door that’s validated at check out.
In addition – this Trader Joe’s is easily the most organized Trader Joe’s I’ve ever visited. Maybe they’re trying to make a good first impression or perhaps some pressure was applied from the community… Whatever the reason, they have legit worked it out.
Mine was a quick in and out experience. I had two grocery groups to buy – salad stuff & guacamole stuff. And everyone knows that even with a short shopping list, it’s easy to get swallowed upinside a favorite shop and spend not only hours but also significantly more money than originally budgeted for.
Today I was on a mission. We had somewhere to be but I couldn’t help myself. I was itching to try out the spot because of its newness and my excitement. Moms – I was honestly checking out in less than 10 minutes. Less than TEN minutes!
There were probably 20 check out stations, each one working. I only spent 22 bucks and this bag is pretty heavy.
With as many people inside the store as you can imagine, it’s probably hard to imagine that the store was not full of chaos. Be assured – the store was not full of chaos.
Also the chocolate aisle is massive.
That’s all for now – I’m sure there’s a much more involved TJ’s trip in my future. Suffice it to say that I honestly can’t wait.
