Vicki Kristina Barcelona Band – Live in the Heights

Looking for an easy-going night out in the Heights tonight? Vicki Kristina Barcelona Band is playing in the parlour at the Fox and Crow (594 Palisade Ave.) at 10pm. A little about them:

They’re songwriters, musicians & singers whose performances include both original compositions and Tom Waits covers, re-imagined with three part harmonies and the playful use of eclectic instruments.

“We are all hybrids and story tellers,” they tell me. “Terry mixes a Brooklyn Girl spin with a deep respect for classic American soul, roots and country. Amanda’s background and influences are International. Rachelle is a genre-fluid native New Yorker. Vicki Kristina Band’s style is a blend of those respective sounds. We love bouncing ideas around and venturing out of our comfort zones, playing instruments ranging from banjo and harmonium to cajón and beer bottles.”

Here’s Temptation  to wet your appetite. TGIF, Jersey City.
