Even though it was a planned rest day, Lyndon and I rode 13 miles on our bicycles around New York and New Jersey with a pair of 35 pound toddlers strapped onto our back wheels.
Jersey City has more hills than you think.
And now my back hurts.
When I first found out that I herniated a disc in my lower back, I was concerned about my ability to stay healthy and physically fit. I was immobilized and crunching on percosets for at least a week after the injury. Maybe two. It scared me.
A friend told me his wife had the same injury and yoga (specifically hot yoga) was her outlet. So I’m looking forward to looking forward. Tomorrow I’m back in the studio and I’ll be mindful of my back the many ways to strengthen (and damage) it.
